Frequently asked questions

What does Lymphatic Drainage do?

Lymphatc Drainage reduces swelling, inflammation and fluid build up in the body.

Why do I need Lymphatic Drainage after my surgery?

After your surgery, whether it be liposuction, tummy tuck or BBL, a substantial amout of fluid is going to be in your body, specifically around the affected areas. Thiis massage is also greatly beneficial in preventing fibrosis (a permanent hardening of the tissue) and seromas (an abnormal collection of fluid in the subcutaneous tissues) from forming under the skin.

After a few sessions you will find yourself needing a faja adjustment.

Is Lymphatic Drainage painful?

No. Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage has a very light touch that increases in pressure with time but still does not reach the level of a deep tissue massage. The goal if to focus on the subcutaneous tissue and lightly push the fluid to its respective lymph nodes.

Does Lymphatuc Drainage massage help with bruising?

Yes! Bruising is just an accumulation of blood cells in the tissue, lymphatic drainage clears out the trapped blood cells and reduced the appearance of bruising in just a few sessions.

Who should not get Lymphatic Drainage?

Those with heart conditions, kidney problems or cellulitis should not receive lymphatic drainage.

How often should I receive Lymphatic Drainage?

As soon as you have been cleared by your doctor you should receive 5 massages within that first week. The more intense the surgery (ie. tummy tuck) or the more areas worked on will require more massages. 12-15 massages would be recommended for best results.
